The Full Story
Evanston Writers Workshop was founded in 2007 in Evanston, IL and received its 501(c)3 not-for-profit status in 2008. Our mission was, and still is, to help the writer in any way possible. To that end, we have an ongoing critique group that encourages and helps local writers with their craft. We also began the "In The Trenches With the Writer" weekend intensive workshops in 2011. Thanks to marvelous friends and teachers through the years such as Mary Janice Davidson, Cherry Adair, Jodi Nye, Jade Lee, Sherrill Bodine and a host of others, we have continued our mission to help the writer. Some of our members have gone on to win awards, be published and even receive the title of New York Times best seller! We strive to create a safe and creative community in which our writers thrive.
